Build trust and increase collaboration.

“Organizations with more connection are 5.4 times more likely to be agile, 3.2 times more likely to have satisfied customers, and 2.3 times more likely to have engaged employees.”

~ Harvard Business Review

Connect meaningfully, lead with creativity, and celebrate growth together.

Gallup Workplace studies show that employees with strong work friendships are seven times more likely to be engaged in their jobs, are better at engaging customers, and produce higher-quality work. And yet over 50% of managers struggle to foster human connections among remote workforces.

Case Studies:

Culture Summit

  • Why we were hired: Culture Summit brings together founders, thought leaders, and culture champions from around the world to share insights and best practices on building and transforming culture in the workplace.

What we created: As Lead Facilitator, I designed a 90 minute networking event for attendees to accelerate connection and discover new ways to collaborate with their teams. Attendees walked away experiencing the “true power of vulnerability” “a master class in facilitation” and “insight into how to bond a group in a short amount of time”.

  • “I decided to stick around for Late Nite Art activity where I experienced the true power of vulnerability. While we talk about this a lot, I was blown away by how raw and open the group was. Despite how deeply uncomfortable it made me, by practicing that gradual build up to vulnerability I experienced first hand how powerful this was to bond us as group and this has really stuck with me.” ~Maree Henwood, People & Culture, Mantel Group

Oakland Museum of California Art

  • Why we were hired: The Oakland Museum of California Art was seeking to bring a healing element into their annual Lunar New Year program which had both in person and online components and a range of ages from youth to elders. OMCA requested a program that would appeal to multi-generational audiences.

What we did: We designed a custom program for both digital and in person audiences. We hosted an online healing circle for the larger OMCA community centering AAPI voices and Lunar New Year intentions. We led an in person healing circle for all ages that incorporated art, movement, and meaningful connection. We were the finale offering showcased alongside lion dancing and taiko drumming.

  • “Lotus and Christine were amazing community partners who brought a whole new level of depth and healing to OMCA’s 21 annual Lunar New Year celebration. It’s more important now than ever to hold space and uplift AAPI communities who have been experiencing racism, trauma, and xenophobia related to Covid. I worked closely with Lotus and Christine to design both an in-person and virtual Zoom healing circle experience that was intentional, inclusive, and engaging for the museum’s diverse intergenerational audiences. And Lotus and Christine delivered! The entire process of collaborating together felt fruitful and authentic -- from ideating to designing to facilitating, Lotus and Christine were deeply intuitive, adaptive, reflective, experimental, and always held the needs of the community to the core of their work every step of the way. It was beautiful and transformative to watch Lotus and Christine develop trust with and guide museum visitors of all ages and identities through healing circles while skilfully incorporating so many different interactive modalities into the experience, including movement, music, meditation, and art to engage children, adults, and elders. It was an honor to be able to partner with Lotus and Christine to bring these much needed healing experiences to the OMCA community. “ ~ Linda Jia, Program Developer at Oakland Museum of California

Verizon Media

  • Why we were hired: We were brought in to design a 2 hour team building session for the kickoff of a 60 multicultural leaders program at Verizon Media. The goal was to launch their leadership program with a bang, build meaningful connections and bond as a community.

What we did: We designed a 2 hour team building event that a smash success! Deepening connections in minutes that may have taken months. We included visual art, movement, storytelling and deep reflection on their equity/justice journey’s in our design. It was such a success that we designed another session for these leader’s supervisors and have been invited back to kickoff additional cohorts within the prograam.

  • “If you want an EXPERIENCE for your group that will allow people to tap into their innate creativity (even if they believe they absolutely do not one creative bone in their body), find ways to share story vulnerably and powerfully in a non-threatening environment, and find themselves more open to teaming, collaboration and partnership than before they walked in...Late Nite Art with Adam and Lotus is for you. Out of five stars, LNA is an entire SOLAR SYSTEM!” ~ Jen Colkein, Verizon Media

Girls in Tech Conference

  • Why we were hired: We brought Lotus and her colleague Christine in to provide a safe space for our AAPI community members and employees to discuss the egregious acts we saw happening to the AAPI community. During this time, we saw distressing stories around physical attacks on the elderly, acts of verbal abuse, and the tragic shootings in Atlanta. In this time of need, we wanted to make sure that the AAPI employees at Visa had the necessary resources to take care of their wellbeing. Lotus and Christine were instrumental in facilitating our safe spaces discussions and providing resources for our self-care guides.

  • “Working together in a short word – amazing. It’s expected that those we partner with provide excellent service, but Lotus and Christine went above and beyond by also providing healing to folks that were working on this project. They were considerate and always asked how folks were doing before we jumped into the logistics/event strategy. Not only that, but the second series of safe spaces discussions were done on very short notice. They worked tirelessly to get the presentation pulled together in time and for that, I am incredibly grateful. The feedback we received was very positive – folks were thankful that we hosted the sessions and that we allowed for a safe space where they could share their stories and experiences. We also heard that this was a great way to connect with other AAPI community members at the company on a deep and meaningful level. We would absolutely recommend Lotus and Christine again.” ~ Joon Ko, Diversity & Inclusion, VISA

What really stands out is her incredible ability to facilitate a team to achieve outcomes. The second is that any person that is privy to her guidance or directly affected by her creativity and enthusiasm is about to be transformed. The third is that she has a work ethic, passion, motivation, and thoughtfulness like none I have ever seen. I recommend her for any individual or organization that is looking to activate their true potential and liberate their leaders.

Tanya Moushi, Founder, Moushi & Co.

  • The Late Nite Art Train the Trainer led by Adam, Lotus and Wendy was a masterclass in thoughtful and engaging facilitation. My biggest takeaway is that there is hidden potential in the moments in between moments. The LNA team managed and facilitated every second of this training with care and intentionality, paying particular attention to these interstitial moments. I learned how powerful these moments can be to strategically create anticipation, curiosity, momentum, reflection, and connection. I spend so much much time facilitating and way to little time thinking and learning about facilitating. I left with a treasure trove of practical tools and techniques, a brilliant group of new friends, a mind bursting with new ideas, and a full heart.

~ Jabali Sawicki, Compass Director, nXu

NYU x Shanghai

  • Why we were hired: NYU Shanghai brought us in to lead the opening and closing sessions for their “Design Your NYU x Shanghai Experience” class. This included 500 students across 5 countries. The goals were to celebrate, connect and delight.

What we created: We designed two custom sessions incorporating reflection, celebration and connection. We began with music and movement to energize and delight the students. We moved quickly into connection questions in Breakout Rooms and created drawings to reflect the neighborhoods we grew up in. For the closing session we wrote “Letters to Our Future Selves” and co-created group murals to showcase the emotional wave of the year.

  • Article written about the experience.

“Since the first year class isn’t able to be in person together, the hope is that this class helps to facilitate a consistent place where they can come together and connect in a meaningful way.

During the one-hour session, students find themselves first in a big Zoom room with 500 classmates, and then throughout the class, they are placed in breakout rooms for chances to reflect in smaller groups of three to six other students. Each student is also assigned a partner to meet with consistently throughout the semester.

“The smaller breakout rooms are definitely my favorite part of the class because every time we are assigned different rooms and we meet new people from different countries, from different parts of the world,” says Zhong. “We’re all in different places, but it’s amazing to see how people are living on the same planet, but how our living habits, our past experiences, our cultures, are so diverse and so different from one another. And it’s just amazing to recognize this because we don’t have many chances in our life to notice things like that.”

The first two class meetings were full of energy, with fun music and a curated playlist that welcomed students as they entered the Zoom room. As part of the visual thinking section, students were asked to visualize and draw important memories, list ten meaningful moments from the last 5-10 years, and create a meaning map for their for their homework. There was lots of movement, with the whole zoom room of 500 asked to stand up from their chairs to dance and stretch.” together.homework. There was lots of movement, with the whole zoom room of 500 asked to stand up from their chairs to dance and stretch together.
